Voter Qualifications & Registration

Residents of the Cohoes City School District can vote in the Cohoes Board of Education elections and on the annual school district budget, held on the third Tuesday in May. The next school budget vote will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018. The following are voter registration requirements:

  • A United States citizen

  • Age 18 or older

  • A district resident for at least 30 days

  • Registered to vote in the general elections or with the school district

Completed absentee ballot applications must be received by the district office at least seven business days before the election (May 8, 2018) if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election (May 14, 2018) if the ballot is to be given to the voter in-person at the district office. Return completed absentee ballot applications to: District Clerk, Cohoes City School District, 21 Page Avenue, Cohoes, New York 12047. All completed absentee ballots must be delivered to the District Office by 5 p.m. on May 15, 2018.
