Cohoes administrators begin yearlong professional development activities to foster student success Cohoes administrators at Peebles Island

August 19, 2015—Cohoes administrators spent August 18 on Peebles Island at an all-day retreat to discuss the district’s goals for the 2015-16 school year and begin formulating objectives to meet those goals.

The afternoon was devoted to the group’s leadership book study on Doug Lemov’s Teach like a Champion 2.0.

The administrators are becoming experts on the Teach like a Champion techniques and will share them with teachers throughout the school year.

On day two of the retreat, administrators are examining how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) relate to student success. Utilizing the ACES framework, the team will develop a plan to foster academic growth.
