Bomb threat at Cohoes High School

October 23, 2017—At approximately 12:58 p.m. a student reported a bomb threat found in the boys’ bathroom at Cohoes High School. Administrators activated the emergency response plan and 911 was called immediately. Police arrived promptly with the K-9 unit to investigate the threat and conduct a thorough sweep of the building.

As soon as police determined the threat was not credible, the shelter-in-place was lifted. Students will dismiss at the regular time this afternoon.

The high school’s emergency response procedures worked smoothly and effectively, allowing everyone to remain safe during the sweep. We will continue to ensure the safety of our students and staff as our highest priority.
