Dear Cohoes seniors and families,
As we continue to plan for our July 18 graduation ceremonies, we are exploring options that will allow for a more enjoyable, authentic graduation experience.
Currently, we can only allow two family members for each senior to be present under the tent at the time of the ceremony. This is in accordance with the executive order issued by Governor Cuomo allowing districts to hold outdoor, socially-distanced graduations of up to 150 people. However, we will position the tent as close to the bleachers as possible and allow an additional two family members to view the graduation ceremony from the bleachers with social distance seating. Other family members will be allowed to stand along the fence. For family members who cannot attend, a livestream of the ceremonies will be available on the district Facebook page.
At their graduation rehearsal, seniors will receive four tickets (two for the tent and two for the bleachers) to give to family members for their assigned graduation time. If a senior is unable to use the additional bleacher tickets, they may give them to another senior for their family to use. Graduation rehearsal will take place at the CHS Alumni Field on Friday, July 17 with staggered times beginning at 11 a.m.
We will continue to monitor the latest guidance from the Governor and the NYS Department of Health and adjust capacity restrictions as needed. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Bryan Wood
CHS Principal
