Each school in the Cohoes City School District has a Building Leadership Team (BLT). These teams’ structure and processes are designed to transform teaching and learning. The teams seek input from students, staff and parents, collect and analyze data, evaluate resources, and collectively author a building plan.
The BLT’s make presentations to the CCSD Board of Education on a yearly basis. They meet several times a year, continually evaluating progress and making recommended changes to accommodate identified needs as the year progresses.
Membership on the BLT in each building includes at least one parent representative, four teachers elected by the building’s staff, an appointed Cohoes Teacher Association (CTA) member, a Cohoes Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) member, and the building administrators. A two-year commitment to service is encouraged.
