A Cohoes teen with a passion for hair and makeup is using her social media skills to reach a broad audience.

CHS senior Morgan DiGiuseppe is enrolled in the Cosmetology program at Capital Region BOCES and recently received a partnership offer from a national cosmetics brand, NYX Cosmetics.

“They reached out to me through my TikTok platform wanting to work with me,” said Morgan, during a break from styling hair at the Career and Technical Education Center – Albany Campus.
Morgan has used the social media platform for the past five years to demonstrate her abilities and share ideas.
“I like doing makeup and helping other people, while sharing my talents,” she said.
Morgan plans to take her state cosmetology certification exam and receive her license after graduation, but she hopes to continue with TikTok and other social media accounts as a means of building her career.
“It’s a great way to reach a lot of people and show what I can do,” she said.
The Cohoes teen credits BOCES with embracing her ambitions.
“BOCES has a great support system in place, and everyone here is really great with sharing their knowledge and offering help,” she said.
CHS Principal Laura Tarlo called the CTE program a life-changing experience for many students. “We are so proud of Morgan and know she will do great things in her future.”
Morgan’s cosmetology teacher is also excited for her student.
“I’m very proud of Morgan to be recognized by such an established makeup brand. She also excels in special effects makeup. I can’t wait to see what her future holds.”
