The Cohoes City School District is a vibrant educational community located in Albany County, 10 miles north of the New York State Capital. The city boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century, when it played a pivotal role in the Industrial Revolution as a textile manufacturing hub. Today, it maintains its unique character with a mix of historic architecture and modern amenities. The city’s proximity to Albany and other major cities in the Capital Region offers residents easy access to cultural attractions, employment opportunities, and higher education institutions.

The Cohoes City School District is committed to providing students with a comprehensive education that prepares them for success in tomorrow’s world. The district offers a variety of academic programs, including Advanced Placement courses, honors classes, and nearly 20 dual credit college courses. We also offer the Future Ready Pathways Program, which allows students to take up to 60 college credits and spend their senior year on a college campus. In their junior year, students can also enroll in the Career & Technical Education program, which offers over 20 programs.

Students have opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities such as clubs, athletics, and an award-winning theatre program offered to students in grades 3-12.
