At a recent Board of Education meeting, representatives from Turner Construction and CSArch provided an update on the progress of Phase 2 of the capital project.
The $19,985,700 capital project, approved by voters in May 2022, has provided many necessary updates and enhancements to the buildings and the Alumni Field.
Now that spring is here, work is beginning to hum along. Work to install new fire alarm systems throughout the district has resumed at the middle school (during second shift), and Harmony Hill. The high school is scheduled for completion this summer with Abram Lansing and Van Schaick having their systems completed later this year.
The high school softball field renovations will be completed this spring and includes infield drainage, back stops and fencing. The dugouts and outfield drainage upgrades are scheduled to be completed after the conclusion of the season.
This summer, the masonry work will resume on the front entrance of the middle school and the fire escapes will be painted.
Other projects to take place over the summer months include:
- Renovation of the science classrooms in the high school (construction expected to continue into the fall)
- Renovations to the high school baseball field
- Elevator upgrades at Abram Lansing, middle school and high school
- American Disability Compliant (ADA) curb improvements at the middle school and Harmony Hill
With the conclusion of the summer project work, the high school is scheduled for new paving of their roadway and lots.
Representatives from CSArch will be at the April 9 Board of Education meeting to provide additional information.
