Sneakers. Dress shoes. Boots. High heels. Flip-flops.
If you have some to spare, Harmony Hill wants them.
Through June 8, the school is collecting almost all types of gently used footwear (no spiked shoes) to donate to Funds2Orgs, which distributes the shoes to developing nations around the world.
Harmony Hill School will receive 40 cents for each pound of shoes collected. Their goal is to collect 100 bags of shoes – or about 2,500 pairs. All money raised through the shoe drive will be used to purchase materials and tools needed to create butterfly habitats around the school.
Donated shoes should be in good condition with no rips or severe damage. A little dirt is fine. Shoes can be dropped off during school hours.
