In celebration of World Kindness Day, Van Schaick Grade School students on Wednesday became the “I” in kind.
“Our students are kind every day,” said principal Jacqueline DeChiaro. “But today we wanted to give it some special recognition. When they come into my office to tell me something nice they did, to see the happiness on their faces, it’s just amazing. Sometimes it’s just something simple, like helping their younger brother or sister get ready in the morning. Kindness is a habit for them. They don’t even realize they’re doing it.”
World Kindness Day is an international observance held annually on November 13 to highlight good deeds in the community, focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us.
